We are working in collaboration with world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind on the iconic 2000-seat Theatre building which forms the striking centrepiece of the Grand Canal Square development in the Dublin Docklands. The new waterfront public piazza has been designed by Boston based Landscape architect Martha Schwartz as a dramatic ‘red carpet’ sweeping up to the Theatre entrance.
As contract administrators we are charged with bringing to fruition the challenging design of the Theatre with its dynamically cantilevered volume and ensure its seamless integration with the adjacent state of the art commercial office development.
The opening night for the theatre is 18th March 2010 with the performance of Swan Lake by the Russian State Ballet. President Mary McAleese is the guest of honour at the opening night of Dublin's new Grand Canal Theatre. Ireland's new cultural ambassador Gabriel Byrne, broadcaster Gay Byrne and actor Brendan Gleeson will also be attending.
