SCOTS CHURCH

Conservation & Re-development

In 2004, VHI appointed McCauley Daye O’Connell to prepare a design to create a new high quality contemporary extension to its existing VHI Headquarters which McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects were appointed to design the expansion of the VHI’s headquarters in Abbey Street into the adjacent disused Presbyterian Scots Church. The key concept and challenges of the dynamic design was to respect and preserve the significant cultural, religious, historical and architectural heritage of the church and its ancillary buildings whilst meeting the client’s requirements for new state-of-the-art office accommodation that would fully integrate with the existing offices.
