MDO played an integral role in the transformation of Dublin's waterfront through Grand Canal Square.

The new urban area forms a dramatic entrance gateway to the city's harbour area, anchored around a new cultural landmark.

The concept for the Grand Canal Square Theatre and Commercial Development was to build a powerful cultural presence expressed through dynamic volumes. The buildings have been sculpted to convey a fluid, transparent public dialogue between the cultural, commercial and residential surroundings, while communicating the unique activities taking place within the theatre and office spaces.
